Si (she/they/她) is a queer Chinese American actress passionate about stories that show the beauty and complexity of the immigrant, queer, femme, Asian experience. As a narrator, their voice has been described as soothing, intimate, and witty.
Music As a classically trained violinist and violist since the age of 5, I provide a wealth of experience interpreting classical texts. I've performed in orchestras at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and string ensembles at the Kennedy Center's Millenium Stage. I'm currently learning how to play the er hu (二胡), a traditional Chinese two-stringed instrument.
Language My first language was Mandarin Chinese and I retain a native accent. I recently worked as a Mandarin language coach and script translator for Kelly Hu on Black Mafia Family (Starz). I'm happy to translate short scripts and coach actors in the standard Mandarin accent (普通话).
Miscellaneous Skills My science background means that I have experience with a variety of skills used in your typical lab setup--micropippeting, microscopy, and preparing slides. I'm also an avid swimmer, having been captain of my high school varsity team, and am a strong snorkeler and scuba diver. I grew up dragon boating (Chinese rowing) and figure skating, and have more recently taken up rock climbing and bouldering.
